Group Project

We, as a group, decided to write a Wikipedia-style article on the president of Ireland Michael D Higgins who just so happened to be born in Co. Limerick. We split up the article in sub- categories, as would a Wikipedia article and my sub-category was his poetry and writing and just his hobbies in general. I think we forget that people in such powerful positions are actual people with normal interests also and I learned a lot about his work outside of his presidency. I wouldn't say the assignment was difficult as such, I think the main hurdle we had to jump was deciding which topic to talk about! Thankfully I got placed with a lovely group who were all willing to do their part in the project. What I have learned from this project is that you really can do the same standard of work remotely. Under a national lockdown and a global pandemic the idea of a group project seemed pretty out of reach at first, but it really is amazing how technology has adapted to help us to work together to create something even from all different parts of the country.
